We cultivate love when we allow our most powerful and vulnerable selves to be deeply seen and known, and when we honor the spiritual connection that grows from that offering with trust, respect, kindness, and affection. Love is not something we give or get; it is something that we nurture and grow, a connection that can only be cultivated between two people when it exists within each one of them- we can only love others as much as we love ourselves. Shame, blame, disrespect, betrayal, and the withholding of affection damage the roots from which love grows.
Love is not easy. However love is beautiful and powerful. Love is something we all yearn for because it is part of human connection. We all want to be loved. Love can mean something different for everyone; from friendships to family to love interests. However, I encourage you to follow your heart and be vulnerable even when you are unsure if the person you have chosen to give your heart to loves you back. Some will. Some won’t. But, in the end withholding your feelings does nothing but hold you back from the love you are capable of.
Luv, Liv
